Daniel Gura

Founder & Principal

Daniel Gura is the Founder and Principal of Prometheus Impact, a firm dedicated to helping capital fulfill its highest purpose—expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and enabling generational prosperity. With more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of finance, impact investing, and community development, Daniel brings a long‑view approach to deploying capital where it can catalyze lasting and equitable change.

Before founding Prometheus Impact, Daniel served as Executive Director of Habitat Capital and Vice President of Habitat for Humanity International. There, he helped reimagine how mission‑driven capital could operate at scale, designing innovative investment strategies that expanded access to affordable homeownership and community development financing across the country. Under his leadership, Habitat Capital invested in more than 200 projects, catalyzing approximately $720 million in total development and supporting more than 4,500 affordable homeownership opportunities.

Throughout his career, Daniel has focused on building financial structures that endure, pairing disciplined capital markets expertise with a deep respect for community‑led outcomes. His experience spans mission‑based investing at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where he oversaw portfolio management and underwriting operations, and traditional finance roles at Bank of America in leveraged finance and fixed‑income research. He also brings alternative investment experience from his time at Gallery Capital Management, where he worked with specialty insurance risk strategies.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College, where he studied American politics and remains actively engaged as Vice Chair of the Alumni Fund. Rooted in the belief that strong communities require both resources and stewardship, he serves as a board member of the Grove Park Foundation in Atlanta and as the Chair of the Williamstown Affordable Housing Trust. He remains deeply committed to advancing locally grounded, people‑centered economic development.
